The Healing Benefits of Reiki

We are all made of energy, vibrating to give us shape and form. Our energetic field is constantly changing, influenced by both our inner and outer worlds. Every cell in our body carries an energy that is unique to us and can be affected by the thoughts we repeatedly tell ourselves, as well as the environments in which we spend the most time.
Reiki is a Japanese relaxation technique that can help reduce stress and while promoting mental, physical, and emotional well-being. It specifically translates to "Spiritual Energy" or "Universal Life Force Energy", combining the two words — Rei (meaning universal or spiritual) and Ki (meaning life force energy).
Developed in Japan in the early 1920s by spiritual teacher Mikao Usui, Reiki is guided by five simple yet profound principles intended to cultivate a more mindful and peaceful way of living:

Do not worry.
Be grateful.
Work with diligence.
Be kind to others.
A typical session lasts 45 - 60 minutes and many have described the experience as a gentle, glowing warmth or radiance flowing through and around the body. Reiki is traditionally offered through a light, hands-on (or hands-near) approach and is based on the belief that an unseen life force energy flows through each of us and is fundamental to our vitality. When this life force energy is abundant and flowing freely, we are more resilient, balanced, and better able to manage life's challenges. When it becomes depleted or blocked, we may be more susceptible to stress or illness.
Reiki treats the whole person — body, mind, emotions and spirit — and helps to promote deep relaxation, along with a greater sense of peace, harmony, and overall well-being. Many people report feeling calmer, lighter, and more connected following a session. It is a very gentle, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use.
