About The Event
Keeping our hips happy and healthy means establishing strength and stability around the pelvis, working mindfully with the psoas and stretching in a way that supports the structure of your own unique body. The hip is one of the most important joints of the body. It is the major connecting point for the lower half of us and the upper half of us - it needs tending to on a regular basis!
I will be guiding you through a practice incorporating strengthening movements to help create stability around the hips and pelvis as well as creating more space within the hip joint. In doing so there is also greater freedom and ease around the lower back which is often pulled on by tightness in the hips and hamstrings. Expect floor work, standing postures, some slow flow movements, squats, and seated stretches.
This workshop is for you if you spend a lot of time sitting, walking, running, cycling, practicing yoga, working out…..or are simply getting older!Â
Symptoms also related to hip issues/ imbalances may include:
- Sciatica
- Â Limited mobilityÂ
- Â Lower back pain
- Â Piriformis Syndrome
- Â Stiffness
- General Aches and pains
- Â Even sore knees
This workshop will give you the confidence to walk away knowing  how to take care of your hips for long term preservation. By finding a balance between strength and flexibility we can maintain and improve our day to day range of motion in our most basic and functional movements so we can move through our days with greater ease and grace and less aches and pains!
