Blooming Into Spring ~ Yin Yoga & Restorative Workshop
Time & Location
About The Event
Spring is a time of transition and change. The earth is awakening from its slumber, stretching its arms and welcoming more light and warmth allowing for expansion and renewal.
In this workshop we will use gentle somatic movements combined with Yin poses (longer held stretches) targeting the deep connective tissue of the body and the specific meridians of the Liver and Gallbladder which are the organs associated with Spring, detoxing and cleansing the body along with unexpressed toxic emotions (anger and resentment which hold us back).
Yin yoga is a slow, contemplative practice that follows the wisdom of Chinese medicine and the cycles of the seasons. Spring is associated with the Wood element which connects us to our vision and dreams and symbolizes new beginnings. Trees embody the Wood element beautifully and represent growth, renewal and expansion, rooted to the earth and reaching to the heavens. Aligning with the energy of Spring encourages us to stay grounded within ourselves while we reach for our dreams, staying connected to our creativity and imagination, honoring our personal blueprint of who we are and what we would like to manifest in our lives.
Just as buds begin to blossom and expand upwards to the light, we too can rise from well supported and nourished roots to move in a direction that supports our well-being, our vision and purpose for being here.
