Classes are created to bring balanced into the body working to strengthen as well as stretch. Breath and alignment are key components. The middle portion of class is a dynamic flow, linking breath to movement (vinyasa). Students can expect to be challenged but as always encouraged to modify or rest as needed. Practice always culminates with Shavasana, deep relaxation, enabling the student to integrate the "information" into the body, mind and spirit.

BEGINNERS

Designed to introduce students to yoga through slow and gentle stretches and movements. Repetition is key here as we start to lay the foundation for an open body and calmer mind. Better breathing and increased awareness are emphasized. Also ideal for those coming back to yoga or working with limitations.

PRENATAL

Start preparing for child birth in a calm and supportive environment. This class will help you learn how to create more space for your growing baby and how to cope with the multiple changes that are taking place. Emphasis is placed on breathing and relaxing with gentle stretches and strengthening poses to bring a greater sense of grace and ease to the body. Guided meditation and visualization are also used to focus and quiet the mind and useful in facilitating a more restful sleep. For those who have a regular practice this class will show you ways to modify traditional poses and what poses to avoid during your pregnancy. Beginners always welcomed.

POSTNATAL

This class is so much fun! Focus is on drawing back into our centers, reconnecting with the body. We as women talk about the "zipper" in the belly and how to "zip" it back after all the expanding work accomplished to give birth! Feel a continued sense of support as we work toward regaining core and arm strength (to carry the newest addition). Upper back and shoulder openers will bring a welcome relief and restful restorative poses will leave you rejuvenated.

MOMMY & ME

What better way to bond with your new baby and other new Moms then my "M&M” Yoga classes! Babies can start as early as 6weeks. It's incredible to see how yoga helps them understand their little bodies and the world around them. It aids in their natural development, the curves of the spine, eye tracking and digestion. The benefits are numerous, including easing gas pain and helping with elimination (ditto for Mommy), improved sleeping . Yoga boosts babies immunity, helps develop motor coordination, and strengthens neuromuscular pathways through repetitive movements. Best of all, Yoga cultivates their self esteem in a positive fun way for both mother and child. Toys and music are used, but most of all your caring touch and attention are all that's needed.
